Privacy Policy

Effective: June 3, 2026

Last reviewed: June 3, 2026

This policy has been prepared with AI assistance and approved by Dark Tantra Temple LLC for the launch of darktantratemple.com. Licensed legal review has been committed to within thirty days of launch, and we will publish any revisions required by counsel as an updated effective-date version of this policy.

This Privacy Policy is issued by Dark Tantra Temple LLC, a Texas limited liability company.

1. Introduction

Dark Tantra Temple LLC ("Dark Tantra Temple," "DTT," "we," "us," or "our") is a holistic adult education and event company. We serve a community of adults exploring tantric practice, somatic embodiment, conscious intimacy, and related personal-growth modalities through in-person events, online courses, and a member portal at darktantratemple.com.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you interact with the Dark Tantra Temple website, member portal, applications, courses, events, and emails (together, the "Services"); how we use and share that information; and the choices and rights you have. It applies to anyone who creates an account with us, submits an application, attends a DTT event, enrolls in a DTT course, makes a purchase, or otherwise uses our Services.

We are a consent-forward, trauma-informed organization. We try to collect only what we need to run the community responsibly, to keep events safe, and to honor our commitments to you. If anything in this policy is unclear, please reach out using the contact information at the end of the document.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the categories of information described below. Some of it you provide directly. Some of it is generated as you use the Services. We do not buy personal information about you from data brokers.

A. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. Account credentials are managed through Supabase Auth, our authentication provider; we never store your password in plain text. We also assign you a unique account identifier that we use internally to link your records together.

B. Profile and Application Information

If you submit a membership application or update your member profile, we collect the information you choose to provide. This typically includes your first and last name, preferred display name, pronouns, profile photo (optional), date of birth or age verification (we are a 21+ community), contact information such as phone number, social media handle (optional), emergency contact (optional), location (city or region), and answers to the questions on our membership application form. The application form is configurable; the specific questions you see may evolve over time as we refine how we onboard new members.

If you apply for a community role (for example, Temple Keeper, Temple Monitor, or Facilitator) or for our affiliate program, we collect the answers and supporting information you submit through the corresponding application form.

C. Participation Information

As you use the Services, we generate records of your participation. This includes: event RSVPs and attendance history; course enrollment, lesson progress, quiz attempts, and course-completion records; waitlist entries and reservation history when an event is at capacity; connections you form with other members through the in-portal connection feature; community-role status and assignments; volunteer-shift sign-ups; and messages you exchange with administrators through the in-portal Message Center.

D. Payment and Commerce Information

When you purchase a ticket, an event add-on, or another paid item, we record the purchase details: which event or item, which ticket type or add-on, the price you paid, the payment method (card, cash, Venmo, Zelle, complimentary, or voucher credit), the amount of any voucher credit applied, refund history if applicable, and the order identifier. We do not store full payment card numbers; card processing happens entirely inside Stripe, and we receive back only a payment confirmation and a non-sensitive reference token.

If you hold voucher balances issued by an administrator, we record the granted amount, the reason, the issuing administrator, and the history of how the balance has been redeemed or restored after a refund. Vouchers are courtesy credits; they cannot be exchanged for cash and they do not expire.

If you participate in the affiliate program, we record your affiliate code, the orders attributed to that code, the resulting commission amounts and the rate snapshot used to compute them, and the payout history. Affiliates can see their own performance information in the member portal.

E. Safety and Community Information

Our community runs on consent and accountability. To support that, we collect: incident reports that members or staff submit; administrative notes that staff keep on members for community-safety and history (these notes are visible only to administrators and are not displayed to the member they describe); and an audit log of administrative and member-initiated platform actions taken inside the Services (for example, when you RSVP to a free event or cancel that RSVP, we record the action alongside our staff's administrative actions for accountability). We also retain a copy of our notification templates and a record of which transactional emails we have sent to you (for example, ticket confirmations or account-related notices).

F. Technical and Device Information

When you visit our site, our hosting provider and security tooling automatically receive standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, the pages you request, and timestamps. We use this information to deliver the Services, to keep them secure, and to diagnose problems. We do not run third-party advertising trackers or third-party analytics on the site at this time.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate and improve the Services, including the member portal, the application workflow, courses, events, and the messaging system.
  • Communicate with you about your account, your purchases, your applications, your courses, and the events you have signed up for. These are transactional communications and they are part of providing the Services to you.
  • Process payments and honor purchases, including ticket fulfillment, add-on delivery, refunds, voucher grants, voucher redemptions, and affiliate-commission tracking.
  • Determine eligibility for tier-gated events and programs. For example, certain community events require an approved membership and a current course completion before you can register.
  • Keep the community safe. This includes reviewing applications, holding incident reports in confidence, recording administrative actions for accountability, and communicating safety information to attendees when needed.
  • Comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
  • Respond to your support questions and requests.

4. How We Share Information

We share personal information only when one of the following applies:

  • Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us run the Services under written agreements that limit how they can use the information. These include Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email delivery), Supabase (database hosting and authentication), and Vercel (web hosting and content delivery). We list these providers in the next section with links to their own privacy policies.
  • Within the community for operational reasons. Members who hold administrative or community-safety roles may see information that is necessary for their role. For example, event hosts can see the roster of confirmed attendees for an event they are running; Temple Monitors can see role-relevant information for events they are staffing. We document role-holder access more fully on our Community Policy page.
  • Affiliates. If you make a purchase through an affiliate link, we share an aggregate, non-identifying signal with the affiliate so that their commission can be computed. Affiliates do not receive your name, email, or other identifying information about you.
  • Legal requirements. We may share information when we are required to do so by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, the safety of our community, or the safety of others.
  • Business transfers. If Dark Tantra Temple is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We would notify you and seek your continued consent where required by law.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use a small set of cookies and similar technologies to make the Services work. These include: a session cookie set by our authentication provider so that you stay signed in as you navigate the portal; and a limited amount of browser local storage that we use to remember interface preferences such as which navigation pane you last had open.

We do not run third-party advertising trackers, social-media pixels, or cross-site analytics tools on the Services at this time. If we add analytics or advertising tooling in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, provide a way for you to choose how those tools apply to your visits.

Our transactional emails are delivered by Resend. By default, Resend can report when a delivered message is opened so that we can monitor whether important confirmations are reaching members. If you would prefer that we not record open events for emails sent to you, contact us using the information at the end of this policy.

6. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following service providers. Each of them has its own privacy policy, which you can read for more information about how they handle data on our behalf.

  • Stripe — payment processing. https://stripe.com/privacy
  • Resend — transactional email delivery. https://resend.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • Supabase — database hosting and authentication. https://supabase.com/privacy
  • Vercel — web hosting and content delivery. https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

These providers receive only the information they need to perform their function. They are not permitted to use that information for their own marketing.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as it is needed to provide the Services, to honor our commitments to you, and to comply with our legal obligations.

Account records remain until you request deletion or until prolonged inactivity leads us to close an account under our then-current retention practices. When you request account deletion, we anonymize the personal information associated with your account — for example, your name, email, profile information, and application answers — while retaining the underlying records of paid transactions, refunds, voucher activity, and commissions in anonymized form so that we can meet our tax, accounting, and audit obligations under United States law without continuing to hold your personal information. Purchase, refund, voucher, and commission records are retained for at least seven years to support tax, accounting, and audit obligations under United States law. Course-progress records and event-attendance records are retained for as long as you are an active member, and for a reasonable period afterward, so that we can honor course-completion gates and so that your history is available if you return. Incident reports, administrative notes, and the administrative audit log are retained for community-safety and accountability purposes. Transactional email delivery logs maintained by our email provider are retained for a limited window in line with that provider's defaults.

When personal information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

8. Data Security

We take security seriously. Our database is hosted on Supabase with row-level security policies enforced on every member-facing table, so that members can only read their own records unless an explicit policy says otherwise. Authentication and password hashing are managed by Supabase Auth using industry-standard algorithms. Connections between your browser, our application, and our service providers are encrypted in transit using TLS. Data at rest is encrypted by our hosting providers.

Payment-card data is processed entirely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Dark Tantra Temple does not see or store your full card number, your CVV, or other sensitive card details.

Every administrative action taken inside the platform is recorded in an internal audit log that captures who performed the action, what was changed, and when. We use this log to investigate problems and to hold our own staff accountable.

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you and any required authorities in accordance with applicable law.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Regardless of where you live, you have the following choices:

  • Access your information. You can review most of your information at any time by signing in to the member portal at /portal and visiting your profile at /portal/settings, your event history at /portal/events, your course progress at /portal/courses, your voucher balance at /portal/vouchers, your affiliate dashboard at /portal/affiliate (if you participate in that program), and your messages with the Temple via the Help button in the portal.
  • Update your information. You can edit your profile, preferred display name, pronouns, photo, and contact information directly from /portal/settings.
  • Request deletion. You can delete your account from your settings page at /portal/settings, or by emailing us at the address in the contact section below. When we honor a deletion request, we anonymize the personal information associated with your account while retaining the underlying transaction, refund, voucher, and commission records in anonymized form to satisfy our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. This anonymized retention is described in more detail in Section 7.
  • Marketing email opt-out. We currently send only transactional and account-related emails (ticket confirmations, application updates, course notifications, and similar). If we add a marketing or newsletter program in the future, every such message will include a clear opt-out link, and your opt-out will not affect transactional emails that are part of providing the Services.
  • Data export. You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you by emailing the address in the contact section.
  • Withdraw consent. Where we rely on your consent to process information, you can withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before the withdrawal.

We will respond to requests within the timelines required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before honoring certain requests so that we do not disclose your information to someone else.

10. Children's Privacy

Dark Tantra Temple is an adult-only community. The Services are intended for people who are at least twenty-one years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under twenty-one. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under that age, we will delete the account and the associated records as promptly as we reasonably can. If you believe a minor has accessed the Services, please contact us using the information at the end of this policy.

11. California Residents (CCPA and CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you specific rights about the personal information we collect about you.

  • Right to know. You can request to know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purpose, and the categories of third parties with whom we have shared it.
  • Right to delete. You can request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct. You can request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is therefore no opt-out to exercise on this front, but we honor the right by design.
  • Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes other than providing the Services.
  • Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised any of these rights.

To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information at the end of this policy. We will verify your identity before honoring the request.

12. Texas Residents (TDPSA)

If you are a Texas resident, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act gives you specific rights about the personal information we collect about you. These rights take effect under Texas law on July 1, 2026.

  • Right to confirm and access. You can confirm whether we are processing your personal information and request access to it.
  • Right to correction. You can request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to deletion. You can request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to portability. You can request a portable copy of the personal information you have provided to us.
  • Right to opt out of targeted advertising. We do not engage in targeted advertising. There is no opt-out to exercise on this front, but we honor the right by design.
  • Right to opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information.
  • Right to opt out of profiling for decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. We do not make automated decisions of this kind.
  • Right to appeal. If we decline a request, you may appeal that decision by contacting us; we will respond to the appeal within the time period set by Texas law.

To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information at the end of this policy. We will verify your identity before honoring the request.

13. European and United Kingdom Residents (GDPR and UK GDPR)

Dark Tantra Temple is based in the United States and our events take place in the United States. If you are nonetheless located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation and the United Kingdom GDPR with respect to personal information we hold about you: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability.

The legal bases on which we rely to process personal information are: performance of a contract with you, where we are providing the Services you have signed up for; our legitimate interest in operating the community safely and improving the Services, where that interest is not overridden by your rights; compliance with a legal obligation, where we are required to retain or disclose information; and your consent, where we have asked for it explicitly.

To exercise these rights or to object to processing on grounds related to your particular situation, please contact us using the information at the end of this policy.

14. International Data Transfers

Our Services are hosted in the United States. Our database, authentication, web hosting, payment processing, and email delivery providers all maintain infrastructure in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Services from outside the United States, you acknowledge this transfer.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of the policy. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice by email to the address on your account and by posting a notice inside the member portal.

Your continued use of the Services after a change to this policy means that you accept the updated policy.

16. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, if you want to exercise any of the rights described above, or if you want to report a privacy concern, please email us at temple@mail.darktantratemple.com. We do our best to respond within the timelines required by the applicable law where you live.
