FLAME — A Fire Temple

Flame is a fire temple — a night about the fire inside us and our relationship to it. Fire as desire, and fireplay as a ritual element. Doors open at 7:00 and close at 7:30. That close is hard. Everything after it begins with a fire safety brief, and it is not something anyone can be quietly caught up on, so please give yourself time to arrive. THE SHAPE OF THE NIGHT. We open in circle with our agreements. Then we name desire at both ends of the spectrum — your small kindling and your roaring flame — written privately, shared only as much as you choose. From there we learn negotiation, using your own kindling as the material rather than hypothetical examples. Then you practice in small groups: each person takes a turn receiving, with two partners attending to them, negotiating first. There is no flame at all in that block — it is the shape of the touch, learned on your own body, at no risk. Only then do you see real fire, in a demonstration. After that, play opens and the fire station runs alongside it. HOW FIRE WORKS HERE. Sir Pocketz is the only person who administers fire. Nobody else lights or applies it at any point in the night. Each turn at the station takes two to three minutes, so there is room for everyone who wants one — no sign-up list, no rationing. WHAT THIS IS. This is a Red night. The room is clothing-optional from the door, and it is an adults-only container in which sexual activity is welcome once we open play. We will say clearly when that line is crossed. Of the four events on this weekend this is the only one of its kind — the others are explicitly nonsexual — so please make sure this is the one you meant to book. A sober space, completely, and enforced. If you have had anything you will not be receiving fire. HOW TO ARRIVE READY. Natural fibers only near fire — cotton, linen, wool, leather. Synthetics melt. Clean, dry skin for fire: no lotion, oil or lubricant on any skin you would like touched with fire, and if you have been playing earlier in the night, rinse and dry before coming to the station. Nothing alcohol-based in your hair, no hairspray or dry shampoo. Long hair tied back. Jewellery off anywhere being worked, as metal holds heat. Body hair singes — that is a smell and a sensation, nothing more. Bring a hair tie, a layer you can shed, and a water bottle. Private venue. Address released after purchase.
